What parameters determine the value of a precious stone?
The 4C system is used to evaluate diamonds:
Clarity (purity) - is designated by the letters of the Latin alphabet FL; IF; VVS; VS; S; I
Color (color) - is designated by the letters of the Latin alphabet from D to Z
Carat (weight) - in carats
Cut (cut) - round, oval, rectangular, fancy (pear, heart, princess, etc.) This system was introduced by the American Gemological Institute (GIA) and is recognized worldwide. There are several other classification systems: HRD Antwerp (Belgium), CIBJO (Switzerland), GOST (Russia)
To evaluate colored gemstones, several more parameters are added:
Origin of the crystal (deposit)
Depth and tone and colors
Number of natural inclusions
Shortage of sales offers (depletion of deposits)
